I'm still wondering if I should learn more about Sketch. The designers I work along side are always saying I should just learn Illustrator. As a front-end dev, is Sketch worth spending the time to learn?

As a designer that spends half of his time producing front-end code; Sketch turned out to be much more valuable in my workflow than Illustrator (except for exporting SVGs, as highlighted by someone else above).

Sketch is really the missing bound between wireframes and pixel perfect mockups done in Photoshop (which don't make any sense anymore in my opinion since web/app design became more minimalist and largely dependant on animations/interactions).

I just wish the team who made Sketch could work on an additional software that allows to easily mock up animations and export to CSS :P

Both tool share some similarities, but it you start from illustrator, sketch is going to be a breeze.

Sketch is very easy to get into though, spend 1 afternoon and you'll probably figure out how most things work.

If you are not looking into doing a lot of vector artwork, you probably be better just jumping straight into sketch.
