How or can we give developers the specs around auto-animate? Seems really cool but (at least for me) I find it very hard to give animations to engineers. Most of the time I just get told no or 'can you give us a .gif'...

Exactly, I want to know this too. In my case, whatever I create static animation. I want it to be exported into Json format for Android. So that developers can use it easily without creating it on their own.

Hi Christopher and Robin, thanks for the feedback. When you use Auto-Animate and publish a design spec of your prototype, the spec contains some details on the animation. You can also record a video of the animation as a way to share with developers.

Another option is to export your designs to After Effects for advanced prototyping. You can add animations in After Effects, which has plugins that allow for exporting to JSON.

Thanks Kyle, when exporting to after effects do the animations carry with it? That would be nice cause then I could use http://airbnb.io/lottie/ to get things in developers hands quicker...

Hi Christopher, for now you can export just your designs from XD into After Effects and then add animations. From there you can leverage plugins like lottie. If you'd like auto-animate to carry into After Effects, I would add your vote here.
