    I like how it isn't sharing jQuery specific syntax. Too many times have I included ALL of jQuery, just to use a couple functions.

      I agree with you.

      I've started with jQuery and now it often takes quite a bit of time to understand and write basic things in Vanilla JS for me, which I think is sad. It's really better to start with pure js bit by bit until you'll be comfortable with it.
