Wonder if they've given an award to AirMail because they don't like their own Mail app as much?!

I was slightly puzzled by the award for Airmail. I actually use the app as my main mail client on iOS - but it was only once I pushed past a pretty "meh" first experience with ugly default settings that Airmail impressed me. That doesn't seem very congruent with Apple design awards?

I was more than slightly puzzled, I have to admit.

I was a longtime Airmail user (on Mac I switched to Spark some time ago because of the terrible search they introduced with v3) and I was never able to look fully past the inconsistent design language, the strange colors and the weird glyphs. I remember when Airmail used Twitter's retweet icon as refresh icon (a square with arrow) in v2.

Giving the same award to Things or Reeder is almost absurd.
