Even though there are some nice bits in the article, this part:

In this case, for practical reasons, I’m only taking into account my feedback. It’s not ideal, but let’s say that for the purpose of this exercise, it’s just OK, because I don’t have a team to do it right.

Discredits whatever comes after and reads like a contradictory word salad.

Nobody cares what you think is broken FOR YOU, really. Everybody has an opinion and in their opinion it's the best opinion. So if it's an exercise, cool, keep it to yourself, learn from it and improve, don't seek attention and likes — that makes it something else which it isn't

Also, I absolutely hate custom UI elements in macOS apps.

Weird. I cared. It's a well written, thoughtful article on a designer's personal take on potential improvements.

      So negative, fam.

I cared. I think it's an interesting take on Sketch. No one is pitching it to Sketch or anything. You can chill.

"Keep it to yourself" says the guy who just lambasted somebody for posting something to a news aggregator.

The thing is we need more designers sharing their work ALONG with their thought process behind it all. Designers also need to be promoting the shit out of these writings so other people can gather inspiration, provide feedback, and grow further.

You should be giving props to the man for taking the time to even walkthrough what he did instead of blasting him down unless you really just want a design community that only has links when a new version is Sketch is released.

I hate how macOS apps are organized, so I welcome custom UI elements.
