I'm sorry, but if you're gonna make a macOS app, please go through the little effort of stepping a little bit outside of your comfort zone and get familiar with the platform and it's programming language.

In general I'm just soooo tired of these 'macOS' electron apps that are 100MB by default (because they have the entirety of chromium baked in!!), have dozens of processes, and all take around a GB of memory at minimum.

The great thing about electron is that it's multi platform, but if you're going to only distribute it on macOS eitherway, why use electron? Just because you're not willing to take a couple days to get familiar with the actual system you're developing a product for?

Swift is a great language, there's no need for you to build an app that includes an entire html renderer and JS engine. And if you really want to use electron that bad, at least go through the effort of providing builds for windows & linux, it's only a matter of running a different command in most cases...

I might have gotten a bit too technical considering the site we're on, yea. Sorry, just had to rant a little.

You get what you pay for I guess. What did you think of the fonts?

Custom fonts take a lot of megabytes too so he prolly should use Arial

Free doesn't have to equal shitty. I actually like the fonts a lot, but I have a weakness for monospaced fonts in designs. I know they really shouldn't be used, but I dig the look of it a lot.

You're right, mono space fonts are not good, especially for numbers. That's why I suggested Cambria or even Android Serif. :)

Also does it really only take a couple of days to make an app in Swift?

I meant get familiar with Swift. Getting familiar with Swift isn't that hard, it actually looks a lot like JS in some ways. Most of the people using electron only use it because they're already familiar with JS, and that's what my rant was mostly about.
