Wow this community is sour. Sour to the point we can't see a simple post for what it is anymore.

You're spot on. This is how to make a logo, for free, in about 5 minutes. Is it the most exciting thing ever? No. Is it something useful? Sure. I've done this before. For proof of concept it can be really awesome. I've whipped up logos off an icon-set before. I've just stuck a letter in front of a name.

Works perfectly for what it is.

STOP HATING THE TOOL, PEOPLE. IT'S A TOOL. USE YOUR EMPATHY. FIND A USE FOR IT.

Don't be an ignorant nay-sayer who only tries to find the flaw in things.

This is a community of designers... Expecting a community of designers to respond really well to a post that could seemingly narrow a craft down to a 5 minute 3 step process (subjectively) is incredibly naive.

People are allowed to be nay-sayers - it's what discourse is all about. Perhaps you shouldn't expect that this should be well received by default.

Also - I don't think people are upset about the tool.. I think people are interested to know the authors real intention. Marc responded to me earlier saying "my hope is non-designer types try the steps in this post and then see how hard it really is to design something"... Personally, I don't think it's likely that this will happen, but I really appreciated that Marc took the time to respond to me with that answer.

I think you are perhaps being a little sensitive.
