ok.. I'll be the first to bite..

Do you feel that the title is clickbait?

And - is there a reason you have omitted any kind of explanation about the usual process of a branding exercise, or a typical professional logo design, and the value behind it?

This chaps response is the sort of thing I was hoping to not see - https://medium.com/@andreguerra_27644/dude-this-is-fucking-refreshing-c168cd6b3c5c#.cjyqbgokt

no - i don't feel this is click bait at all - its a straightforward title and the article explains exactly what the title states - I will do another post on the importance of hiring a professional designer and the process behind creating a real logo by a pro - I don't believe for one minute this post degrades the profession or craft of a designer - my hope is non-designer types try the steps in this post and then see how hard it really is to design something which opens the conversation up to them hiring a professional logo designer.

"my hope is non-designer types try the steps in this post and then see how hard it really is to design something"

I just don't believe there is any universe in which this will happen.

In regards to the degradation of design as a practice, I don't personally believe that your article does this either.. The kind of people who will use a free 5 minute logo are likely not the type who will pay for a designer anyway..
