Yeah, it would be cool to see comparisons of user activity for common map tasks between the two. The fact that google has fewer labels is probably very intentional.

As time went on, Google used less labels because people will look at the roads moreso than the cities.

As a scientist, it sure would have been nice to have some statistical tests done on this data. I expect that most of his "Apple shows X more than Google" are actually not significant. I hope he releases all the data for someone to analyse.
That being said, this is well written and insightful.
