    Okay, this is the first post by him that I'm into. The over-wrought (and often post-facto) rationalizations for logo/brand design is almost always so very ridiculous — if that was Eli's main issue I'd be a big fan of his. In this article he mostly sticks to that (it helps that he's attacking what I think is pretty mediocre work).

    Although I have no idea where he comes down on the Google Ventures mark. I think he's okay with it because they didn't come out with an overdone explanation? But my sense of his aesthetic leanings suggest he'd be against it because of it's minimalism.
