How can I judge that the analysis I am doing is any good? and are there software tools to help out with for example creating a heuristic evaluation?

  Well, actually I don't know any tool which can express a judgment about the quality of your analysis. What I often use for a quick heuristic evaluation on the go is http://www.uxcheck.co/ a chrome extension.
