This is one of the best case studies I've seen in a while. Very organized, clean, and with a ton of examples. This is just my opinion, but I definitely prefer this sort of UI workflow on things like phones and tablets. Those devices tend to be more geared towards light workflow, while the desktop experience is more for very precise type work.
