    There’s a wide spectrum of executions. Minimal designs with flat colours can be awesome, but let’s not kid ourselves — it’s only one of many flavours. Not only that, but I think staunchly stock iOS 7 themed apps will look very dated in a year.

    It won’t take long for interesting, custom user interfaces to make a comeback.

      I agree. I work for a popular word game whose visual roots (as far as I can tell, I never met the original designer) were in iOS 2 / OS X Aqua. A lot of the UI relies on the illusion of depth (not the interaction models, the visuals) so it's been interesting exploring how we can take the current app as a starting point and see if there is an appropriate way to bring it more in-line with the expectations of our players, now that so many other bigger-name apps are going for pretty straight-up iOS 7 HIG designs.
