    Pretty sure If I'm needing this tool as a up and coming designer, chances are I don't have the extra $10/mo or $50/mo to spend....

      If that up and coming designer pays to use Adobe Photoshop CC, then Portfolio is free to them — it is free to all CC plan subscribers. If they are not a paid CC user, then at a minimum, they can pay $9.99 a month, and get either Portfolio for free, or Photoshop for free, depending on how you look at it. That's a pretty sweet deal :)
