Shameless plug, but if you have an iPhone you should check out BriefMe:

It's headline news like Circa, but with a ranking system at the core.

Small suggestion here. I opened the website and there's just the video. I usually won't watch any video because that's too much effort for me.

There should be some text just briefly explains what your app does.

Plus, I decided to press on the button, and the video still doesn't play, as well as showing a somewhat creepy man's face there. It was not a great experience and might affect the download rate.

Thanks for the suggestion. According to the Youtube API docs, you have to click on the native player or else Youtube won't recognize the views. It's annoying, I know.

If you click on the hamburger icon (top right), you should be able to see an "About" section, by the way. Let me know if there's anything that's not straightforward!

yea that's definitely annoying. I think there're some workaround for this. For example flow did a good job on their landing page here: https://www.getflow.com

For the hamburger icon, as a lot of designers here have discussed that, it might not be a good solution. I do a lot of user testing stuff and what I observe is almost nobody tap on the hamburger icon even on mobile. So if you hide important information under manu or layers, people just won't see it.

Hah, I know the CEO and was skeptical about the app at first, but it actually gives you the headline news of the day. Not sure its for everyone especially those who are particularly cynical... I love it and use it all the time.

Only ask is that you get some native app views for the articles themselves! I hate being forwarded to the articles websites...

We're actually working on our own native view at the moment, and it should be a part of the next update. Glad to hear you're enjoying the app though -- let me know if you have any other thoughts or feedback!
