      Not really. I hate pigeonholing but It's mostly derived from traditional print graphic design and the anti-swiss / Yale design school of thought. Not new, just becoming more popular I think as people are becoming tired of how recent web design has become so templated and designers wanting to break rules and experiment. Bloomberg is a magic place that lets their designers take risks and flex. Dream job for sure.

        I think you're both right. Aesthetically this is more anti-swiss, however, the reason this is coming back is because of the vaporwave trend.

        Anti-design / warped retro as a whole is in right now due to vaporwave / seapunk
