    Slack's visual design is good, but there UX design is not.

        This is difficult to explain, but I'll give it a shot:

        My user experience from Slack is that it's very busy. A lot of notifications and long lists in the right hand side. There are little separation between messages (compared to hipchat) which quickly makes the whole UI messy and busy. Hipchat solves the same problem, but in a more clunky and way less busy way. I simply feel more calm and get a better overview when using Hipchat.

      That's weird, I'd think that UX-wise Slack is quite good. Coming from tools like IRC and Campfire, I'd say that there is a lot of it is intuitive.
