Very fair feedback, Joel. Despite a lot of positive feedback yesterday, it's always helpful to hear critical reviews, too. (See http://d.pr/oMnE )

We have a pretty good idea of what's on our product roadmap the next 12–18 months, and we know the circle element works well with all of those. We've kicked the tires already in this regard.

Another problem the circle solves for us, one I didn't mention in the article: it gives our brand an icon that can be used in social media, tight places, app icons, etc. (Try adding the site to your phone's home screen, for example.) For the better part of two years we've tried to come up with a brand icon and haven't had success. The circle finally gives us an icon, and it can be adapted to each product.

Hey Cameron, CSS Mastery was instrumental in finally forcing me away from table design a few years too late, so I owe you a bit and definitely don't want to be a factor in you hiding in a cave! Unless it's a really nice cave, in which case—you do you.

I want to reiterate that the script is gorgeous and definitely what I'd call authentic, which is why I'm having so much trouble with the circle, which to me feels a bit generic and out of place. I was going to comment earlier about the favicon on the site, for instance. It's a blue square with a black circle on it. It feels arbitrary and generic and definitely not Authentic Jobs. Your script is 100% yours and I could see myself recognizing that A in other contexts. On the other hand, a circle is a circle is a circle.

Having worked with a similar brand in the past, I fully understand the need for an icon, but even on my home screen—it doesn't feel like Authentic Jobs. It feels like could be any other jobs site. You guys deserve more than that.

I know getting feedback like this is extremely frustrating, especially after a long process that has more or less ended.. But considering I love the site, I figured I should give you my 2 cents. Please don't hide :)
