    To me its like two chefs are given a recipe for French fries. Both cook it well, but since the first chef delivers it faster, the French fries from the second chef tastes the "same".

    But just because it tastes the same doesn't mean the second chef tried to imitate the first. It means that he also knew how to fry them well.

      That metaphor works for many cases, except for when the 1st chef makes insanely successful, popular and inventive French Fries and the 2nd chef waits 4 or 5 years to start cooking his.

      It's almost impossible that the 2nd chef wasn't imitating the 1st. It doesn't mean they're not tasty, but it's unfair to claim they're being inventive.
