No you're not alone! This is the story of my life! Every time i created a UI for an app or website, then developers just use premade templates, plugin with a terrible behavior or interface and so on; and if i want the design be consistent with the one presented to the client, the answer is every time the same: "There's no time to do like you've made it"

Respect for you idea, but in my case instead of switching between mouse and keyboard anytime i want to create a shape i just hit the shortcut and set the values, done! :D

Every designer loves how fast is working with Sketch to create UI. And if you, like me, love working using almost only the keyboard (you have memorized all the shortcut available, and maybe created some custom), you've notice that there's no way to create a shape or a label without moving the hand from the keyboard to the mouse and back, than press Alt + Tab to highlight the X field and start fill the other properties.

    • Cmd + Alt + R: to create a rectangle
    • Cmd + Alt + O: to create a circle
    • Cmd + Ctrl + T: to create a text

Hope you can use it to speed up your workflow! If you want to suggest any feature or just say hello text me at vincenzo.petito90@gmail.com

  • Posted to Ask DN: Any Italian Designers?, Apr 22, 2015

Hi Raffaello, i'm living and wroking in Italy, in Milan.

Unfortunately in Italy there's still no the "pure" UI Designer figure, but a mix of UX/UI/Web and in most case you have to code as well with HTML CSS (that's good but after years you code you miss really the Designer work :) ).

Same words for the compensation, since you are not a UI Designer, it's not as the european/US standard, but it's more like a GRaphic designer compensation.

For the other side, Italy is one of the mos beautiful place in the world, with sun, food, pizza :D

    Hope i've helped you

ps. sorry for my english :)

In my opinion, and maybe in that of many other, Dribbble (with 3 "b" :) ) is a community for web, ui, ux and graphic designer too so for a job prospective or to use as portfolio i think Behance is the solution.
