I'm just going to note here that I tried this and it actually caused many of my applications to struggle to load, including Terminal, so beware! Neat idea though.

This is a terrific feature. I've been a heavy user of the Dropbox sync and more recently the InVision Sync app, therefore automating the syncing process. There seem to be advantages and disadvantages to doing so. Has anyone here been an automated syncer that moved to manual syncing? For more control?

Interesting. We fall into the second model and we're at a point where it feels like the third sounds cool, but might create too much management. But it has me thinking that someday it would be interesting to see multiple prototypes live under a Project and be tagged in such a way that prototypes could be easily distinguished by Epic.

This might sound like a silly question, but what do your prototype names look like, especially if spanning multiple projects.

I have considered multiple prototypes for a single project in the past, but I think I was afraid of becoming disjointed and disorganized. Seeing you bring it up has me inspired O_O.

After seeing your response and Nelson's it's clear to me that the answer to my question is quite simply to use JIRA, which isn't where we typically track design. There are a couple of reasons why, but they're probably just excuses to avoid using JIRA.

Thanks for responding Nelson. I feel foolish saying it now, but we don't typically track our design work in JIRA or similar (each project team determines what is best for them). We're in the services business, so each of our teams operate independently and to this point have only had a single designer. Processes and tools have differed between teams and it wasn't until this most recent project that this sort of workflow caused significant pain, hence the post. We can certainly do better there.

Putting together some expectations for different roles and tiers within those roles at Detroit Labs right now. What I like about their approach is that it's not only about growing as a designer (or whatever your discipline might be), but about being impactful in an expanding way outside of your own little bubble. So, in my opinion, a "Senior" designer not only has the abilities and experience that make them a great designer, but they show a drive to share those abilities and experiences with others to help their peers grow and to help the business evolve.

I wish I had something, but I resorted to League of Legends.
