Thanks Matt, I'd be happy to share some details about the tech used. First of all, full disclosure; I just want to point out that I'm not a developer by trade, I've dabbled over the years but design has always been my thing so by no means would I recommend digging too deeply into my build! But to give a brief overview of the build and libraries: - GSAP and ScrollMagic power the on scroll animations. - I've used the Animsition.js library for simple AJAX page transitions. - Vanilla-tilt.js for the layered tilt effect. - Warped text effect: I figured out a way to hook up SVG filter attributes to ScrollMagic, allowing me to increase the filter scale on scroll. - Swirling background is based on a Codrops tutorial, I've just tweaked it to fit the visual style.
No CMS behind it, just old school PHP templates as I'm the only one managing it. Hope that answers your questions, thanks for the comment.
That's a great looking site man!
I would be annoyed but that actually made me LOL too much.
Ouch, it really sucks to hear that's the impression you got from the site. Not really my intention, however it is my personal portfolio and the aim is to showcase my work, background and.. well... me.. so I didn't think it was such a bad idea having a photo there. Anyway thanks for the comments, I genuinely do appreciate the feedback - hard to know how it will be perceived when you've been slugging away on your own project for several months!

Thanks so much Loui, this is incredibly useful feedback. Although a lot of my day to day work does fit under the product design tag, I hadn't actually stepped back to realise none of those projects are on my site yet and equally if they haven't made it into the portfolio perhaps I shouldn't be broadcasting that so heavily. The purpose of the typewriter section was to get across the diversity in my work but you're absolutely right I should probably re-think that one.
