It's a new logo so odds are most people don't like it for no reason at all.

I've been using it a bit and I'll say those are all pretty accurate criticisms.

Whenever I think of Eli's articles I think of this Dwight McDonald book, Essays Against the American Grain. In it he essentially has a bunch of takedowns of what people might consider iconic works like The Old Man and the Sea, or Webster's Dictionary. Anyway, while the criticism is interesting and valuable the reality is it's not nearly as valuable as the actual work he's taking down. Nothing he writes about the Old Man and the Sea is as important as The Old Man and the Sea.

He has an interesting perspective, and while I tend to disagree I find his criticisms at least relevant. That said unless solutions are offered it rings pretty hollow. He starts to come off as the man Roosevelt is talking about in the "Man in the Arena" speech.

I would love to be in the room where they try proposing a design with 2 ads on the homepage, both of which are probably around 2000px down the page.

Maybe it's different, but at least for me it was definitely pulling from artists I've played. Thou doth protest too much with the One Direction hah.

I don't know that she cares about design feedback as she's not trying to become a designer. You, however are a designer (presumably) and you give some pretty poor feedback. Pointing out something is bad is far less valuable than being able to say "this isn't working, this is way, maybe try this".
