  • Posted to I designed and built a habit tracking app for iOS. What do you think? , Jan 14, 2019

Just want to say that the app is a delight!

Congrats on the launch. The app does what most apps fail to do. Give a simple utilitarian view to manage my habits ❤️

Is there any place where I can read more about the process, the time it took and development challenges etc :)

That would be super sweet! thank you. heysuganth[at]gmail.com.

There are couple of browser concepts right now in the App Store now, featuring gesture based and tab less design. Not sure how much it would take someone to replace their safari/chrome, but definitely your friends made you ship the right product first!

I don't like to send feature requests, because it'll be super biased on my side, but a browser extension would be dope :D

Coincidentally I'm teaching myself iOS development now. So this whole thing is inspirational to me! Thank you.

I would love to see the video of the web browser if it's available. Definitely feels like it has potential.

Research is your friend. As product designers, we might have more powerful tools at our disposal which could communicate big things even in a small timeframe if you do it right - Qualitative and Quantitative data

You don't necessarily need to change the product much or define the journey, but just talk to the product's users and you might discover valuable insights which you can feed it back to the management.

Present the insights that showcase what you are up to. In fact the management might get more confident when you share these insights with them early on.

While the company might be small, you will always have one person who might be on your side as an ally. Could be an engineer, could be a data analyst, could be a product manager. Find that person and reach out to her/him and get their help to understand the product better.

If this is too much for you to try it out, take out a problem that you currently have or the management is having and do a design sprint and bring in stakeholders together. You might be able to get the goals, direction, constraints and data that you need to support the solution, all in a week time.

All the best, and if you do try out any of the suggestions in the comment section, create another thread in a few months and share us what worked :)

It’s super hard to get the onboarding right and huge kudos for iterating it to get it perfect instead of just forgetting and adding features.

I just replaced my safari read later with your app and I’m loving it. How long did the whole development take for you?

Such an elegant app! Especially the onboarding and the interaction to go to the next article.

I feel like it's a reader designed for stories generation :)

  • Posted to iOS app designers using figma, how? (vector asset question), in reply to Andrew Richardson , Nov 14, 2018

PDF assets are not the same PDF Spec document if I understand this right. Figma does provide code view where you can copy paste the layout code and understand the specs but PDF assets, on the other hand, is how Xcode exports 2x, 3x assets internally when you are building an app.

It's the only supported vector format for assets in iOS

    At Samsung HQ

Let's make a really tall phone, shrink the size of the content area and sell it at a high price
