The funny thing is that it's not actually negative. It's just rational and even handed, which, in the context of the hyper-positive Reality Distortion Field feels like negativity. He's saying that Apple is just a company—one that makes great products, to be sure, but without any magic solutions or supernatural insight.

I think you misunderstand his point. If you have to justify your right to privacy then it isn't a right, it's a conditional privilege. That doesn't mean anyone's forcing you to care about privacy. It just means that, should you one day care about it, it should be easily available you you.
