have you ever had a googledoc party? its da best
I've started using it and it's really impressive so far. I fully believe the web is the future and figma embodies it.
Dang I can't wait to use this. I love that they're building on so many good ideas from the design and prototyping community.
Imagine if the new google logo was presented like this!?
Good feedback peeps, I will try to pass this along to the team working on this. It's definitely a work in progress (as is a lot of the design culture at msft).
Another site made in house that I especially likehttps://powerbi.microsoft.com/
Also something you may not have noticed is the work being done for http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/ to update for windows 10 and unifying all the disparate sites across microsoft.
great one I saw recently: https://daneden.me/
Hey Koen, I wanted to thank you and the team for making Framer, Its been the most impactful and empowering tool I've ever used. I'm just happy every time I open framer studio. I feel like it gives me superpowers.
Qs:
How have you guys nurtured the community around Framer? I find the attitude of the community to be one of the best I have ever encountered. It's amazing how helpful, knowledgable and open everyone is.
What does a rough day in the life of Koen look like? I'm very interested in what it's like to be in your type of role on a small team.
I find this idea very interesting but I would describe is as a diary instead, it seems much closer to that type of human behavior.
I think this is more conceptual - but The Grid is a company taking a lot of risks to push the whole concept of UI design way past what we think of as UI design today. I believe they are the forefront of the way design will be approached in 5-10 years. They have begun looking at using algorithms to generate layouts and visual systems that can handle so much more than any individual designer or design team can today.
I believe that we are falling behind in the methods and tools we use to design and are not making great strides towards really breaking open the concept of UI into something that is way more fluid open and personal. This may be hyperbolic, but I think we need to go to this place, and we can be way more creative in both app and web design than we have been up until this point.
Another tiny example of this is the https://spotify-tasterewind.com/ where the entire ui and visual system adapt to you and your choices in interaction with the design.
Lastly https://medium.com/@twomonthsoff/the-post-mac-interface-1031b94df77b this article is a huge inspiration to me to begin thinking of ways of approaching systems that are not so rooted in outdated metaphors and might actually enable people way beyond what our current UIs allow.
