What a huge pussy you are. I bet you're the kind of guy to say you're a feminist in your Twitter bio.

Saying the word woman is offensive to me and now I'm triggered. Please only use gender fluid pronouns.

We cover subjects who tend to be underrepresented in the greater tech narrative

Yet they include JOHN FUCKING MAEDA. A dude who makes more than $10mm per year as a VC partner at KPCB. Wtf.

    A few rules of thumb:

    • Never accept equity as a replacement for higher salary
    • Never accept a salary less than 20% above market rate (market rate is typically skewed 20% lower than what you can actually get a company to pay you - The difference between 80k and 100k is negligible for a company and in most cases.)
    • If the company isn't meeting your salary demands suggest taking alternative forms of comp, ex: If the company is public you could ask for shares, bonus structure, profit sharing (but NOT equity that shit is worthless 99.99999% of the time)
    • Are you allowed to work remotely? If not, the company probably isn't worth working for as they have no respect for work life balance
    • Who is your manager going to be? Have you met them? Are they an asshole?

Some of these might not sound like they relate directly to salary, but they do. If your manager seems like an asshole you might want to tack an extra $10k onto your salary demands. It's going to be a pain in the ass waking up everyday and having to deal with that dude. Money will help.

In the few articles I've read and interactions I've seen on Twitter, Eli has always been open to counter criticism and alternative points of view. If that's not true then please point me to an example.

Nice. Another year of the elitist fest. Only creative celebrities and minorities get invited. Talk about diversity!
