What are your thoughts on creating better wireframes that help link your vision to what the client is interpreting?

Sketch is getting really good, but I find myself needing more custom elements. Which, I could place those elements in Sketch, but it's not as fluid as i'd like. Sketch might eventually be my go-to, but at the moment i'm still using Illustrator.
