There's a few cheap plugins called Text Style Manager, Layer Styles Manger and Symbols manager all created by the same guy. I would be surprised if Sketch includes this feature soon however.
How do you sell the value of a well crafted source file to execs e.g. thoughtfully created symbols in Sketch, nicely organised layers in Photoshop etc vs quick and dirty turnover of designs? I of course lean toward well crafted files, but I pay for it with many unpaid overtime hours. I feel like it’s a short term pain, long term gain kind of thing, but it’s hard to sell this to people who know little about design or old-schoolers who are not used to working with design systems. Any advice?
Why would they get rid of magic wand? I thought it was surprisingly good.
I stand by illustrator being the best way to export SVG's for consistent results, if you're a designer. Affinity Designer I'm sure is great if you know how to use it and if you're a developer. There's lots of SVG options but I don't know what they mean.
Does anyone know of a good way to test SVG's? When I export them they often look great in a browser but when one of our devs place it in our platform, all sorts of weird things happen. I then play around with settings until it looks right but it would be great if I could test them myself rather than driving the dev mad.
SVG export has improved from a design perspective, not sure what the code is like. I'd like to see what other people think?
Material design has a different interpretation of what a stepper is. I don't have an opinion of what either element should be called, but I think Google has a pretty big influence over the language we use.
However I haven't seen one consistent name for them so I think you can call them whatever you like. I've seen "Button Number Incrementers" and "Add Minus Number Buttons" which both suck.
Hey Brad. I apologise, my opinion is clearly uninformed and it was arrogant of me to diss your work when I know little about it, and especially when I have the choice to not use it. Atomic Design has clearly helped a lot of people build great systems and I’m going learn more about it before yabbering away.
