"If you are wondering how I differentiate a “nonprofit” from a “charity”, I generally ask myself “Is everyone volunteering or just me?”."

Great way to argue the fairness of pay on non-profit work!

Thanks for the note. I had opted for background-size:100% to contain the image, with no repeat. But it still tiles. Will take another look.

I should add a submission form. Good point!

I like it. But why doesn't the digital design (typography) style match the print style?

I'm a little late to the party here, but interested to know, 7 months later are any of you guys having a good consistent experience with Affinity Designer?

Basically, I'm kind of done with Adobe/Creative Cloud. Monthly payments may be convenient, but they also make me focus on what I'm getting for my money. Illustrator is the only thing I would really miss as it's such a workhorse. But, tbh, even that feels slow and buggy these days.

More often than not, typefaces get a bad rep because people with poor typography skills abuse them, or worse, design them. This includes the most basic tasks like selecting the right font for a job, pairing it up with something complementary, etc. Typography is the basis of most graphic design and yet here we are hating typefaces like they're a spanner in the works.

It should be mandatory for every designer to attempt to create a useable typeface at least once. It is a humbling experience.
