Let's upvote it all! Great post, and indeed true. Sadly true. A couple of years ago it wasn't a day I wasn't here to read the latest in design, but now, I rarely do it. But as your call to action, let's take action!
This is old, but did you find something?
Really nice touchpoints. I think all of them are in a way or another in the minds of designers around the world. As you said, the padding feature is overly requested by everyone.
Hmm, not sure it fits, but my company has services like: software development, team augmentation, and consultancy (here I'm involved). The team has 3 people, me and 2 other people. I'm the "Head of Design"[insert meme here]. We often work with the Marketing department, for social media campaigns and other marketing materials, but we also do clients work (UX/UI design). The company size: I think it just got to 200 people. Most of them are developers. We also have a 3D department (Unity, 3DSMax and ZBrush). So we can add here other 2-3 artists (people that are not developers).
This is my main concern as well. I see everywhere nice transitions, gradients and popping effects, but none of those can't make it to a final product. For me, these are just concepts. Nothing more. But for other designers, this kind of work can be misleading at some point and can create the wrong impression about what can be achieved. Great work nonetheless, inspiring to see this kind of exploration, but at the moment I think that are just concepts.
You are right. Checking it with Developer tools from Chrome. Even Chrome says that the contrast isn't good.
At the moment I use an LG 27" 4k display, but not recommended. Looking forward to what 2019 will bring... CES and Apple. Lately, I'm looking at ultrawide monitors, but I don't think I can get over non-retina PPI. Still searching for the best option. What ultrawides have lately is the USB hub and the ability to charge your laptop... and that is something really nice. De-cluttering. Escaping dongles and cables. But as I said, looking forward to what CES will bring since it's happening right now.
Interesting approach. I find it so difficult for my eyes to not see smooth letters.
Looking great! I like it. I also like how you build your prototypes in Figma. I understand what's underneath, so really nice and clever. Good job. I hope it will land you awesome gigs. Congrats!
