Why would Apple slow down phones? Such a strange thought. But regardless, I think it's important to familiarize yourself with both platform's design patterns regardless of which fanboyism you subscribe to. Both are solid operating systems trying to solve similar problems in their own way.
If OP is considering the Beyers DT line, note that the 770 is closed and good for isolating sounds in an office environment, the 880 is semi-open and the 990 are open so sound will leak!.
Oh and also they're over-ear/kinda big (almost too big for the office).
If you're going portable I'd recommend the VMODA XS!

Like other people here are saying, After Effects is great for quickly visualizing transitions/animations – especially very complex ones – at it's core the software is for visual effects/motion graphics. It might be good for getting ideas out that aren't out-of-the-box ui patterns. It's super powerful and worth learning if you have the time and interest.
BUT if your goal of prototyping is to have something interactive or something you can user test, then you should focus on something like Flinto, Principle, Proto.io, ect.
