Placeholders avoid duplication as they just group selectors, so that would be a valid alternative to classes or mixins.
Sounds like fun — always was a big fan of IRC.

I actually find it a lot less readable.
If they just put back some of the divider lines I think it would be ok, but honestly it feels as if half the styles haven't loaded.
Hard to read? All the info is up on Github too!
Probably not a great choice for long-form, but I thought a homage would be fun. Github pages are a good opportunity to play around!
Thanks!
Eric also released su, which is definitely worth a look:
DIY Sass grid engine. We use this engine for Susy, but you can use it to build any grid system you want.
I haven't had much time to play around with it, but it works with Libsass and could be another option if you're willing to learn how to work with it.
The problem with extends is if there's more than one modifier it results in duplication.
I just moved my portfolio site from WordPress onto Craft and found the process pretty painless. Best of all it makes no assumptions about the site/content, and has great inbuilt support for custom fields/matrix repeaters etc out of the box. Even assets can have custom fields. Great community too.
I still think I'd prefer if it didn't use a templating language and stuck to PHP (like WP does) but Twig is very easy to pick up.
I've long claimed that Panic are too far behind the curve for their software to ever be useful. Their development cycles are far too long - Coda 2.5 was 'nearly done' almost a year ago, and is still a week or so from release.
It's a shame because the polish that Panic put into their apps makes them great, but it often means too little too late. Why is Unison even still for sale? DMCA takedowns have destroyed usenet for its only lingering audience.
However, I'm pretty excited to see Transmit iOS turned around so quickly, and an SSH client is still extremely useful when I put on my sysadmin hat.
