How to Design an Icon Set: Simple Checklist for Graphic Designers (icons8.com)

This guide was meant to be internal instructions for our new icon designers. But we decided to share it with the community because it is quite universal.
This article is the first one in the series of materials that our designer Anna Golde was preparing for almost a year.
Is there any guide that gets in depth on whether to outline strokes, how to address using icons at different sizes causing pixel-perfection not to work, etc?
For example should the icon's fill their artboard to aid in sizing and positioning for the developer, or have them sized relative to the artboard for consistent sizing to each other as long as the developer implements them at a consistent size?
This has a lot of good stuff, but these guides often seem to ignore the issues that come up when icons are used in practice instead of in an ideal scenario.
Hi Mattan, your questions are fair and actual, and we are ready to write a material on that. Could you please specify a bit more what dilemmas, issues have you experienced. It will help Anna to write a more detailed article.
Really nice writeup! Clear and concise... Keen to see the next articles!
Very helpful article! Especially paragraph about visual weight. Thanks from a beginner in graphic design!
