    I hope that's a mistake and not intentional. I think it reduces contrast. But then again, this is a company who mixes two sans serif typefaces, so who knows. :|

    Looks like a drop shadow.

    ...and tbh, since it's on all the elements (image, logo) on that carousel, I think it might be a styling mistake.

    It gets a much softer and more comfortable look and feel. Looks almost e-ink like. Anyone know if this technique has a name or if other services are doing this?
