Anyone using Windows?

almost 10 years ago from , Removed

As I know, most of graphic designers & developers use macs with OS X in them. But is anyone here using Windows? I sold my Macbook and since have been using self-built Windows machine. One downside is lack of good apps like Sketch and Kite. If you're using Windows, share your most used designer/developer apps here.

Well, I used Sublime Text and Adobe CS in my previous job cause they only had Windows there. Now that I have a Mac, I'm still using Sublime but started using Sketch for designing.

I´m using Windows 8.1 and have Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Word, Excel and Powerpoint for my regular workflow installed. So far I had no problems. I have to admit that I´m not a developer but a designer for the usual business located in your hometown. As I´m located in Germany there are currently more clients with a Windows-PC than with a Mac. That´s why.

Windows user here, although my overall tech setup is pretty cross-platform.

I try to use apps that I can easily work with across different OSes. For wireframes, I use Balsamiq, I use Photoshop and Illustrator through Adobe CC, and I use IE Tester for debugging sites in older versions of IE.

I'm using windows, though I'm not developing and designing seriously/professionally right now as I'm in college. When I do design and develop, I use Photoshop, Brackets, and Node.js.

Cool! Then I'm not alone. I forgot to list mine :D. I tried Brackets too, but been using Sublime Text 2 lately, also Photoshop is always needed. And I'm student too.

I have a Mac since the age of osx tiger but never had to use it in full until the release of snow leopard. At that time almost all of my working tools exist on Windows and I wasn’t able to find the equivalents on mac (I did not even find a good HTMLcolor picker at that time). But after the release of snow leopard, I saw mac apps growing rapidly. Not only I was gradually found equivalent tools in mac but new apps with good usability and greatly helped improve my productivity sprung. And it continues to grow until now. Almost all new good tools for designer (and probably developer too) are released in the MacOSX first. Sometimes you will see its windows version later but sometimes you’ll not.

So, for your question, if you're asking for windows tool I’ll probably answer it with some boring options that most all windows user already know, but if you asked for mac tools, I can suggest you a lot of tools of fun
