Not a big fan of the "Apple" story icon.
Agreed. It's a bit creepy.
Apple story icon? What are you referring to?
Ahh I see - I was looking in the link re: Dropbox auth lol
ty
Does your icon critique in any way refer to the concept or is it a design feedback for the DN guys at Layervault?
Storing my biometrics on cloud to make the authentication work would be a little too scary for me. I'm not convinced yet :S
You don't necessarily have to store the biometrics in the cloud for this type of service. If the API is done correctly, you could just generate a token on the device and send it to Dropbox (or any other service). The same way Google Authenticator works, without the uncomfortable manual typing or copy & paste.
ah, so it will be device generated authentication then. That would make more sense just using finger print scan as an input. Though we probably won't see it happen unless Apple decide open up that feature set.
Would be pretty cool if that happens.
Exactly. Let's hope they open up their APIs at least for a "Yes/No" kinda input. That's all you would need for an app to generate the token and send it to your own API.
I wish Dropbox and Apple would make this happen. 2-Step Authentication for any service is still a pain.
Now that would be cool.
