Sketch startup and overall performance suffers a lot when I activate the Craft plugin :(

I haven't noticed any problem with Craft and hope to never have any in the future because I found it very useful, especially the Data and Stock features.

Thanks for the feedback Ettore. Current version should be solid. For anyone experiencing less-than-great performance I'd be HUGELY interested in hearing from you so we can help make life better and rule out any additional factors that could be causing this. Hit me up personally at stephen@invisionapp.com or submit a ticket via our support@invisionapp.com address. I like to take these opps to connect folks directly with the team on this so we can make sure everything as dialed in as possible!

Yes - so much so that our team no longer uses Craft. Always seems to get more in the way than is actually helpful.

I've removed it, turns out I don't actually use any of the features

I tried removing Craft. Sketch didn't get any faster. Installed Craft again.

@Stephen, have you guys every tried to see how Craft Library and Amazon WorkDocs works together. Since the last major update to Craft Library, it does not really sync for us anymore. Another issue, seems to be that it does not want to keep Sketch's native responsive settings for symbols after it has been uploaded to WorkDocs.

Zero problems with performance of Sketch & Craft - that goes for myself and the rest of the design team here (8 people). It could be worth completely uninstalling from your system and trying again?

For those switching off or uninstalling Craft, what alternative(s) are you utilizing to manage your libraries?

I'm close to uninstalling it and going back to uploading manually to InVision -- or just moving my team off InVision altogether and going to Marvel. I've never used a piece of software (InVision) in a professional environment that's had so many reliability problems.

Arg... not what I want to hear at all sir- sorry you're experiencing this. Need to do right by you and your team. Would love a chance to chat more and make sure we're focused on resolving any outstanding issues.

Latest build should be stable on this front so would like to dig in here to root out any remaining issues. Hit me at stephen[at]invisionapp.com so we can walk through this together?

Hi Stephen - I'm happy to chat w/ you. I've filed 6-8 support tickets (off the top of my head) over the last few years. That should give you a good starting point in understanding what we've been experiencing.

Overall, InVision is not providing a reliable experience and this degrades customer trust. If you don't have trust in a piece of software, then is there any value left? If it doesn't work when you need to present to a client will you trust it? If it doesn't upload images reliably will you trust it? If it takes 10 seconds to load do you trust it? Does this reflect well on you as the designer? I'd say no to all of these.

Our team flip flops between Marvel and InVision. InVision has better organizational functionalities (better for larger scale prototypes), but the interaction and speed of putting together a mockup in Marvel is soooooo muuuuuuch better, imo.

      • I also just upload via website because the sketch plugin isn't reliable. Maybe it's fixed now, but for how long? And I've generally lost trust in the uploader :(

Agree. Hooking everything up is much faster in Marvel. I think this is because they're not using popovers/modals and decided to use a full-width slide up interaction for hotspot details. InVision's UX gets in the way.

My 2 cent... from a large Enterprise design standpoint, I disagree that InVision is doing organization well. The folder/section features inside each project is super awkward and not very robust.

TBH - I don't know who they're going after in the (design) market, and maybe they don't have clarity on that internally.

Have the same problem. Craft doesn't sync and gives error's to sketch

Hey Sanne can you shoot me a screenshot of what you're encountering and make sure you're using latest version? This shouldn't be happening and I want to make sure we get resolved ASAP for you: stephen[at]invisionapp.com
