Did anyone notice their blog? ( https://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/collaborative-design-with-adobe-xd/ ) XD is gonna have real-time collaboration feature early next year and windows 10 ver. appears in its new video. Just can't wait to see it.
I am waiting too!
If you are interested in some of the future stuff around XD, you should check out our Adobe Max keynote this mornings (starts at 9:30 AM PST). You can watch it here:
I don't get this feature. Figma has it too, but it doesn't mesh with any designer's workflow that I know of.
Well, obviously it doesn't mesh with any workflow you know if because this is a NEW feature of design apps like this. I'm sure Adobe has received a lot of feedback requesting some form of collaboration using their apps because not only is XD getting this feature, their video apps have collaboration and versioning built-in to their latest releases as well. Give it time and I'm sure you'll see this feature used and mature as designer get comfortable with the potential benefits it provides.
So one of the basic features in UI design of underlining text is still not present in the latest release. #facepalm
Hi everyone,
thanks for the great feedback! Character styles and object styles are coming. Checkout the future of Adobe XD video that also shows realtime collaboration and visual versioning on which we are working on right now: video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhYYqzX294s article: https://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/collaborative-design-with-adobe-xd/
And yeah, underline too ;) (https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-xd-feature-requests/suggestions/13826292-underline-text)
Thanks!
Tom (Adobe XD)
Layers!
So much effort is put into collaboration tools, and yet I'm dubious about their impact in the workplace. It's something people will always say "sure, that would be great!" in surveys, but in practice it not only requires nearly perfect tools, but a total upheaval of business cultures.
Great progress. I think they are moving pretty fast. I love the concept of design + prototype in 1 app. With symbols and layers I feel confident to once again try using Adobe XD for small prototypes.
I am going to be that guy, and ask: when exactly will we see the Windows version?
Not sure for Adobe, but you can use Figma on Windows now.
There is a free public beta of XD on Windows coming before the end of this year.
The new Symbols functionality looks good. At this point I'm surprised they haven't gotten further, though.
What would really set this software apart is a linux release.
I'd agree. Unless i'm missing it, they still don't have text and layer styles. You can repeat symbols, but you can't edit the text in each one. It's where Sketch was 2 years ago.
I agree. I feel they should be further along. Especially since they can really just take from the Design Space Preview they have for Photoshop....I thought that was really promising.
