Looks very much like Zeplin.
Very very much like Zeplin
Goes to show how Invision (and Sketch too) are in a position to squash Zeplin pretty easily. I love Zeplin but if one my existing tools did the same thing, I would cancel.
Likewise, sad but true.
Shame that they tied this to Enterprise. There are tons of freelance designers out there that would love to use this.
i'm guessing they'll release it to everyone soon.
What makes you think that?
Great point!
In a way it's a shame, but in a way it makes sense given that their Enterprise plan is a huge jump in price with almost no exclusive features or improvements worth writing home about. I'm not saying I agree with it, but those freelance designers can use Zeplin at a price more friendly to them.
InVision tried to sell our company Enterprise this summer, and the whole experience went badly. They needed something else to sell the plan on and I guess this is it.
Hey Pete- sorry to hear about this. I'd love to chat with you about your experience and make sure were taking notes on ways to do better next time around. Inspect will be getting broader rollout very soon. In the meantime hit me up at stephen[at]invisionapp.com, would be keen to jump on the horn with you. :)
Hey folks- just to clarify here- this WILL be released to customers beyond Enterprise very soon. We opened up early beta access to all of our Enterprise customers first. Rest assured this is going to become another key component of the platform that folks will have access to when its taken out of beta. Hang tight- we're cranking on it! :)
Was wondering when they were going to announce this. Looking forward to trying it out. Seems as though it's going to cancel out Zeplin in my workflow if it works as well as Zeplin. A Mac App would be useful too now InVision!
I'm wondering if this is going to be for Enterprise users only though... I hope not.
Nope, not just Enterprise- expanded rollout coming very soon. Hang tight- we're cranking on it!
What do you think? It looks like it works as Sketch Measure plugin
I use Marketch plugin, pretty much the same functionality
This looks awesome. Though after using Invision on multiple projects I've found it can be very laggy when working with retina web designs while Zeplin is buttery smooth. Unless they fix this then I'd just stick with Zeplin and it's super easy export feature.
I really wish they would focus on prototyping, they could have achieved so much in that time. Zeplin have been pretty frequent with their new features so it's going to be hard playing catchup. Plus I like supporting the underdog, my last project would have been so difficult without them so I feel I owe them my support. They're probably trying to diversify.
I've used it for a few months during the beta period. For complex files it could choke up and never load the inspect feature. When it works, however, it's quite helpful.
Your developer needs to be comfortable going into InVision and using it, though. That can be tough since they already have a ton of tools that they need to use and keep up with. It'd be nice if Inspect could export a stylesheet with your layer/group names from sketch and all of the corresponding CSS parameters.
I've been using this for a little while during the beta and it's been excellent. Makes collaboration with Dev much easier and eliminates a lot of the annotations / redlines that you would otherwise need. Great to have it in InVsion because the files are already there for design reviews and feedback anyway.
I'm not part of the SF cool guys, so i probably don't understand why they didn't release this for photoshop users ? (even Zeplin does it now) and i've not seen anywhere in their FAQ if they plan to make an update for Photoshop. It's a shame i would have gladly cancelled Zeplin to only use Invision.
Seems to be for enterprise only, but still a great feature may replace Zeplin in my workplace in the future.
Hang tight, expanded rollout beyond Enterprise coming very soon- thanks for your patience!
