Apple — AirPods (apple.com)

I'm probably never going to own a pair, but I feel like I already lost one of them in my car.
I really liked when Phil Schiller said "AirPods will be $159. Thanks!" and immediately ran off stage.
I'm going to be livid if they get rid of the headphone jack in the new Macbook Pro.
My guess is that they know how much of a hot potato this is, and while they’d love to kill the port on Macs as well, they will see how this goes and save that for later Mac gens.
If they do that, or get rid of any other ports, I will have to resort to buying a dell or something. Its called the macbook PRO, needs professional ports. and audio engineers use 3.5mm headphone jacks, cant just force them to use adaptors that are fickle.
The good news is, their reasons for ditching it on the Macbook Pro are not nearly as strong as the reasons they ditched it on the phone:
They can still try to make an argument for potential for better audio quality, but that's a much tougher argument to make, just as it is with the phone.
To be fair, the only reason the current EarPods fall out of my ears is because the cable attached to them gets stuck behind a jacket, finger or cat and yanks them out. Pricing earbuds at €180 seems a bit much though. They’re earbuds.
Someone is about to make a lot of money selling over the ear attachments for these.
Someone will make a wire for these wireless pair.
These are so pricey... I spent $80 on headphones and I felt like THAT was self-indulgent.
I've spent a fair bit more on my Sennheisers. Do feel the same, but ended up buying 3 pair. One's permanently at work, one at home and the oldest pair for travelling because they do take a beating.
I can't afford a car because of stupid shit like this. So many small things where I like to have quality, that the big things never eventuate. Both a curse and a blessing.
Interested to see how well they stay in your ears; that's always been a problem with the standard EarPods for me, especially when walking around (let alone exercising).
Otherwise, pretty cool and the case is a good idea.
I keep hearing the same, but have been lucky... they've always stayed in for me. I think the charging case idea is pretty neat.
I don't see the application on this, sorry. You can´t do many things:
And so on. I guess commute will be the only reasonable thing to do with these and, in case you crash with someone at the subway or bus or walking on the street expect some Airpod losing.
