I knew I was going to spend money today when I woke up and saw a Kickstarter email from Gary Hustwit.
I love Dieter Rams as much as everyone else, but I'm also disappointed to see that he always appears to be the only Modernist designer UI designers seem to know. There are many worthwhile designers worth looking at, in addition to knowing more design movements apart from the Bauhaus.
One at a time I would say! Doesn't make this documentary disappointing. If this gains popular interest it might as well just pave the way for more on other designers.
There are - as Teemu mentioned it'll pave new paths, but Rams is a great designer and the principles he has stated are ones to admire.
What about writing a Medium post about "the others"? Would love to hear more from you and it might be a good starting point for people who's interested in designers in general but can't find a path to learn about them properly.
Will definitely contribute. Would really like to see this.
