What bookmark bar?
What extension?
Probably I need to clean things up a bit. (I wish Chrome had the pipe separators that Firefox has)
I've used this to solve that problem.

I prefer to keep my browser clear so no bookmark bar. Instead I organise my links in a new tab page of my own design running on the Kirby cms.
Best of both worlds for me: clean browser and all my links accessible.
An interesting fact emerging from this is people either don't use the bookmarks bar at all (+1) or they really use it and have a bunch of folders organized with loads and loads of stuff.
There doesn't seem to be many in the middle ground ground between "don't use it" and "use it for absolutely everything ever".
