It's a good idea, thanks. Only issue is that on the index pages, the crowded by-line of each posting makes it harder to scan for those that have active discussions - ie, more than a few comments. That's one of the main things I do when looking down the list of stories, and all that info makes it more difficult...

We just fixed that. It shouldn't happen anymore.

Maybe just visible on hover of username via title attribute or other tooltip.
