Pretty awkward to browse these photos on my smartphone.
I'm curious, were they actually removed digitally, or was it planned?
If it's the former, I'm impressed.

But basically, no he doesn't remove them digitally.
It's an interesting idea. Personally I think it would be more interesting if they were normal photographs where people happened to be using their phones rather than images where they've clearly been set up in situations where it's a little forced / the camera is focussed on the phones.
