Youtubes transparent ui controls

Just noticed Youtubes new transparent ui. Is it here to stay, or are they still testing?
It looks huge compared to the old one.

I hope it's here to stay. It's not amazing by any means but it does go away and lets you watch just your video, which is awesome.
