what is this? a roast? not a constructive thought in here.
Has someone checked on Eli recently? Is he ok?
Last time I checked, he's switching back to a CRT monitor because his Cinema Display is too flat...
Everything is awful
Saved you a click.
Eli you know, bitching about something is easy.
Knowing the process, insights and reasons of the teams working on these products is a whole different story.
I'm not really interested in Eli's opinions anymore. His articles are just clickbait now.
"now"
He's learned the formula now: talk shit, get hits (bonus: bitch about the response on Twitter with the Skeuno gang). Why bother putting in the effort?
Also, this might be a bit harsh, but maybe there's just not that much work out there for him any more with the industry maturing beyond skeuno. Explains the unhealthy amount of salt in his diet and the use of his time churning out this crap. He hasn't got much else to do...
For how much Eli hates flat design, he sure blogs about it a lot. Not that he's beating a dead horse, I just think things are getting a little stale. I want more of his perspective on what he sees as good design.
Apple's dead Aqua aesthetic.
I like Trix yogurt.
Sounds gross but I respect your input.
Gogurt or die
While I didn't agree with your previous posts, I did appreciate the critical take and thoughtfulness in them and found them to be interesting.
However, the last several posts have left me thinking, "What point was being made?" This one especially. It started out as a look at the change of the Apple music icon, but ended with a repeating list of "Company X also updated their logo and [insert dry remark]."
I hope that future posts will return to more thoughtful critiques.
The guy seems very bitter in general, rarely does a positive word come out of his mouth. This is the result.
why you heff to be mad? https://youtu.be/xzpndHtdl9A
Pretty sure I'm being trolled.
Unfortunately, I'm sure you aren't.
In just around a page of text Eli has managed to insult four prominent tech companies; Apple, Facebook, Spotify and Instagram. Why? Because he doesn't like the design of their app icons... His hatred towards flat design is almost bigotry.
Still waiting.
Jealous of your avatar
I knew I'd regret clicking that
The one on the right is not Instagram's actual icon in any form I've seen it used: http://static1.squarespace.com/static/54bb4cfce4b045585ada36f7/t/55937499e4b016944c15a4f0/1435727003045/?format=750w
Any context for this one?
https://dribbble.com/instagram is the only place I've seen it
"Very soon, flat fans may get what they asked for in a redesigned iOS icon."
I interpret that as he made it himself
It's the Apple Watch Instagram app icon. http://www.apple.com/watch/app-store-apps/#instagram
... oh.
Uh ok.
And that's suppose to be a bad thing? Seeing a skeuomorphic icon, especially Instagram's old one, on the Apple watch would look awful and out of place.
(I'm addressing Eli, not you.)
