A good point they raise, there's no longer a shortage of legit services to listen to great music and connect with artists (though I wish they'd mentioned Bandcamp!).

There's no way anyone at Grooveshark wrote that letter.

There was discussion on HN about this letter being written by the winners of the lawsuit and not the CEO or company.

Anyone else think that it is odd that the whole thing is an image? Even the most novice developers could have thrown it into HTML in a minute.

Was expecting this. Music companies were hounding them for years.

Not written by GS. Sad and abrupt ending but as someone mentioned, they have been hounded for a while now.

I know they are doing it illegal but I always preferred grooveshark to spotify or other sites. The broadcasts, guest voted playlist system was awesome. I missed it already :(
