I've been using Toggl for a while and it's pretty good. I can start a timer on the their web app and it activates on the desktop app. It would be nice to have more colours for clients though.
I've been using Toggl and Harvest. Now I'm using TimeCamp because it has keywords detection so I can track my time automatically. It's a real time saver!
Can't imagine my work without TimeCamp!
Throwing our app, Tiempo, into the ring - http://www.tiempoapp.com.
Free for tracking time and sending online invoices. Only costs money if you use us to accept credit cards online or pay contractors.
More importantly, you can use it to track any type of work. So, if you get paid by the hour, project, PSD, tweet, or just about anything else...Tiempo can handle it.
Check it out! Would love to know how you think it compares Ronalds.
Available on Web, iOS, and Android.
Nice, added.
I've been using Freckle and enjoy it. There's a Mac app that syncs with the website and the invoicing process is handled pretty well.
I think you should let us know if the app is free or not free, in what way and is it webapp or support Mac or Windows.
Added info.
Office Time does the job for me.
Also added.
One thing for sure - do not use DeskTime. Because their billing system sucks. They've been charging me more than they should, and when I downgraded to Free plan, they've been still charging me for couple of months after that untill I finally stopped using their software completely. So yeah, stay away from DeskTime.
What I'd like:
Something that integrates with Focus app, knows when I'm standing at my computer (based on low-energy bluetooth) and what time of the day it is, and toggles Focus on, and automatically starts a timer in my menubar based on a few rules I set.
Essentially, if I'm at my computer and Focus is turned on, I'm working. Any other case, and I'm not working. I don't really need to track my time, but I am interested in introspecting my own working hours.
I like TicToc:
Added too.
Check out mite: http://mite.yo.lk/en/
Added.
TMetric - https://tmetric.com/ I use the app myself and have enjoyed it so far. What I like the most is that it integrates with such tools as JIRA, Asana, GitLab (and many others) and is pretty easy to use. Billing and invoicing are the features I appreciate too since they help me keep track of my billable hours and invoice the clients accordingly.

I use "primaERP Time tracking" primaerp.com
I would recommend #51 TMetric https://tmetric.com/ as it has all the features needed to be labelled as the best and not bloated with extra functions - you can rely on its accuracy, plus rich options of invoicing and reporting. Thank you )
So far I'm loving Dayswork from Friends of the Web. https://dayswork.co
Thanks for sharing! Added.
Here is another for your list: Motiv - http://motivapp.com
Web, Mac, Windows, Android, iOS. Once your done tracking you can turn your time into an invoice with one click!
Thanks! Added.
Here's another one: http://tyme-app.com The interface takes some getting used to, but it's actually quite intuitive, and so far I like it better than TicToc, which I've been using before..
Great, added.
I use Paymo. Has a useful menubar application to start and stop the timer. You can also start/stop timers on an iOS/Android app. Supports invoicing though I haven't used it. Says it does project management though I don't think it's suitable for that. Not too expensive once you outgrow the free account (from $5/month).
Great. Added also.
Need translation :)
D'oh, sorry. Totally forgot it was in Dutch.
Any chance you add mine as well http://freelyapp.com/ it's an MVP but we are working on a mac and apple watch version...
Added yours too.
Thanks man! Much appreciated !
If you know any other good ones, please share here in comments, i will add.
If it doesn't work with ZenCash it's dead to me.
Harvest works.
Aaaaaan ZenCash is closing. Doh.
Looking into InvoiceSherpa, but their site crashed when I tried to sign in (server error) and they haven't responded to my help ticket for 36 hours. Not a good start.
(Also, yep, I use Harvest.)
