I really don't mind renaming layers for Generator (you just have set up your PSD that way from the start), but the one key thing I find missing is support for layer comps. I asked one of the Generator developers about this on Twitter and he said they are working on it, but that they are a small team and it might take some time.

I'd love for someone to tackle layer comps.

We actually have released an interface for extracting assets in the new version of Photoshop that also includes SVG export for shape layers and export of assets for multiple resolutions..

We were going to add in support for Layer Comps but the performance we got was very poor so we removed it until we could figure out a better way. Also as Jordi says, there is a built in script to output layer comps currently, and hence we didn't see it as super high priority. Any other feedback welcome!

Thanks for this one, I will definitely check it out. Renaming and setting everything up through layer names is a bit of a chore.
